Description
Inside the Roman Theatre of Palmyra looking at the stage backdrop from the first row of seating. Although now there are only 13 rows of seats left in the auditorium, originally there would have been around 30. The scenae frons (stage backdrop) is in excellent condition and is extremely elaborate and belongs to a style of Roman architecture called the eastern-baroque. The sunlight is diffused by a dust filled sky of passing sand storms.
