(Original Caption) From the many photographs illustrating the life of the late colorful colonel Jacob Ruppert, owner of the New York Yankees, comes this one made in November 1920 as he met with fellow diamond magnates at baseball conference in Chicago. Left to right front row are: Judge FX McQuade, Harry Frazee, Colonel Ruppert, George Grant, John McGraw and Barney Dreyfuss. Standing back row: Unknown, Charles Stoneham, unknown, William Veeck, Charles Eddetts, and unknown. Colonel Ruppert died January 13, 1939 at the age of 71, after having built an almost mythological baseball empire.
