The Information in this photo is Historically incorrect. Genl Piet Joubert was a Boer who stood against the British and their afrikaner (Cape Dutch) allies. The Boervolk and the afrikaner are as different from each other as Scotts and englishmen are.

Piet (Petrus Jacobus) Joubert, Afrikaner soldier and statesman, c1890. Born in the Cape Colony, Joubert (1834-1900), commanded Transvaal forces in the 1st Boer War (1880-1881).
