The Information in this photo is Historically incorrect. Genl Piet Joubert was a Boer who stood against the British and their afrikaner (Cape Dutch) allies. The Boervolk and the afrikaner are as different from each other as Scotts and englishmen are.

Piet (Petrus Jacobus) Joubert, Afrikaner soldier and statesman, c1890. Born in the Cape Colony, Joubert (1834-1900), commanded Transvaal forces in the 1st Boer War (1880-1881). At the beginning of the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902) he commanded the Boer forces but, through ill health, resigned and died soon after. (Photo by Ann Ronan Pictures/Print Collector/Getty Images)
