Description
The coati is a small animal (about the size of a housecat) which lives in the Americas. This specific species is the South American Coati and lives in allmost all tropical and subtropical places in South America. The omnivorous animals can be quite aggresive when approached to close by humans. In popular places like Iguazu falls they approach people for food and when denied they can bite and scratch. This specific photo is taken in the Pantanal where they live further away from humanity. This young animal climbed a tree to escape from the human 'threat'. The IUCN status of this animal is 'Least Concern'.
