Description
In autumn with the front range of the Rocky Mountains in the background, waterfowl and walkers enjoy Harriman Reservoir which stands near Bear Creek Lake State Park, just outside Denver Colorado. The reservoir was built in 1873 by George W. Harriman who homesteaded on 850 acres along the Bear Creek Valley. He was known to some as the 'father of the storage reservoir system.' It is now part of Denver Water's water storage system. In the arid west, water and water rights are becoming a huge concern.
