Description
(Original Caption) Austria Has Millions -- in Paper Money. The Austrian-Hungarian Bank at Vienna is again issuing millions of crowns in paper money to meet the recent rise of prices of commodities, railroad fares, etc. The printing machines have been working overtime to turn out the needed paper money, and bills of large denominations are handled with very little consideration. It is a common sight to see 5,000 and 10,000 crown notes being paid for ordinary purchases. Here is a view of the safe at the Vienna bank, with six and a half million in 10,000 crown bills.
