The City of Detroit, (From Canada Shore)', 1872. Sailing ships at the port of Detroit, Michigan, USA, seen from Windsor, Ontario. The two cities are located on the Detroit River between Lake St Clair and Lake Erie. The Detroit River is one of the four major straits that connect the Great Lakes system to the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
