Artist's Description
View of abandoned houses in the depopulated Palestinian village of Lifta on a slope at the entrance to Jerusalem. The population was driven out during Israel's 1948 War of Independence. The village is one of the few abandoned Palestinian villages to be frozen in time; most of the rest were either demolished or repopulated by Jewish residents.
