(Original Caption) 7/9/41-Detroit, Michigan: Ted Williams, the Boston Howitzer, crossing the plate in the 9th inning of yesterday's all-star game on the circuit blast which swept in three runs and won the game for the American League. Joe DiMaggio (5) of the Yankees and Marvin Shea (30), Detroit coach, give Williams the glad hand as Yankee Joe Gordon smiles in the background.
