A living organ taken from a human body is shown being placed in the Lindbergh-Carrell heart pump to be kept alive. The nurse is garbed in black and the operating room is finished in black tile instead of the customary white to prevent excess light which may react unfavorably from coming in contact with the organ. A sheet of cellophane covers the nurse's arms and the pump opening to keep out air, dust and possible germs. This remarkable instrument is the invention of Charles A. Lindbergh, noted flyer and Dr. Alexis Carrell, foremost scientist.
