Contrary to popular belief, Morocco is not all desert. In fact, it sports a large mountain range that created the Sahara desert. This mountain range is known as the Atlas mountains, and traps all the water coming into the Africa from the Atlantic. The mountains closer to the coast are actually very green, with a landscape that resembles something from France or Spain. The further inland you go, the drier it gets. This part was shot somewhere half way through.This particular shot was taken at the highest area of the range, known as the High Atlas. Just to the left of this picture is the tallest peak Jbel Toubkal which was still snow capped.
