(Original Caption) 5/14/1956-Cojimar,Cuba-Two-time Academy Award winner Spencer Tracy takes on the character of Ernest Hemingway's "Old Man" in the film production of "The Old Man and the Sea." Tracy was the first and only choice of Warner Brothers for the role of the Cuban fisherman who struggles with the giant marlin. The story has been translated into 22 languages, and brought Hemingway the Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes.
