(Original Caption) Calls for 'Something Cataclysmic.' Washington, DC: Representative Albert Gore, (Democrat) of Tennessee, wrote President Truman yesterday urging that a death belt of radioactive dust be spread across Korea to halt Communist aggression and that other atomic weapons be placed in readiness for UN troops. Representative Gore said that "Korea has become a meat grinder of American manhood" and declared that "something cataclysmic is called for." April 17, 1951.
