Description
(Original Caption) Des Moines, Iowa: Ronald Reagan, as a young athlete fresh out of Eureka College in Illinois, began his career as a sports broadcaster on WHO Radio in Des Moines. Shown in a photo made during the 1930s behind an old time microphone. Reagan, known as "Dutch," is best remembered in Iowa for his telegraphic report broadcasts of Chicago Cubs baseball and University of Iowa football games. The call letters WOC alongside WHO represent a combined broadcast over both Davenport and Des Moines radio stations.
