Artist's Description

(Original Caption) 01/07/1962-New York : Home run king Roger Maris (L) of the New York Yankees demonstrates his batting grip for the Japanese homer champ, Shigeo Nagashima, as the two met at the annual sporting exhibit in the Hotel New Yorker. Maris, who belted 61 homers in 61 was on hand to display for the first time a new model glove he helped create. Nagashima was leader in the 4-bagger department in the Japanese League.
