Artist's Description
(Original Caption) The year is 1952, and Senator Richard M. Nixon of California breaks into tears following a meeting with Dwight D. Eisenhower which resolved his political expense fund troubles and kept him on the GOP ticket as Vice Presidential candidate. After this controversy over funds raised for him by businessmen, Nixon's chances of political survival were conservatively estimated at nil. Senator William Knowland of California is on the right.
