(Original Caption) Washington, D. C.: Mars' Satellites Studies As Planet Nears Earth. Professor Asaph Hall of the Naval Observatory taken at the telescope with which he is making a nightly study of the satellites of Mars, as the planet approaches the earth. The two Martian moons were discovered by his father in 1877 on the last near visit of Mars.
