Artist's Description

(Original Caption) Employed in an Essex, Mass. shipyard, Frederick L. Billings, 70 years old, who has been a shipyard workman since his earliest youth, is just as active today as he was half a century ago. The veteran looks sorrowfully upon the passing of the old time fishing schooner. Today he is engaged in laying the keel of the 300th schooner on which he has been employed.
