'Morning (Four Times of the Day)', 1738. Scene in Covent Garden, London, early on a winter morning. A small fire burns in the foreground. A stall-keeper is seated on a basket. A thin, elderly woman attended by a forlorn footman in an elaborate coat watches a flirtation between a market woman and a soldier. Tom King's coffee house can be seen on the right.
