A procession of monks passes through the courtyard of the Hotel Dieu or Hospices de Beaune, 1853. A medieval hospital for the care of the poor, the institution was founded by Nicolas Rolin and his wife, Guigone de Salins in 1443 in the town of Beaune in the Cote d'Or region of Burgundy.
