(Original Caption) An Air force Thor, Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, lifts from its launching pad at the Air force Missile Test Range, Cape Canaveral,Florida. One of a series of recent taste of the huge missile, the launching was successfully carried out. The Thor flew its prescribed course and impacted in the pre selected impact area. Under development by the Air Force and Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc. The missile was manufactured with production tolling and was one of a series coming off the assembly lines at Douglas.
