(Original Caption) Two spacemen "behind the scenes" when the Redstone rocket carrying astronaut Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom goes up on July 19th will be alternate John H. Glenn, Jr. (right) and Mercury control center capsule communicator Alan B. Shepard, Jr. Shepard, you will recall, has already had his "go at it", and Glenn still awaits his turn. But at the moment the world's eyes are on Grissom, whose scheduled July 18th blast-off was delayed for a day because of the weather.
