(Original Caption) 7/12/1986-Miami, Florida- Jacques Cousteau stands in front of the research vessel Calypso in a Miami shipyard where the boat has been completely rebuilt. After a few finishing touches are completed, Calypso will return to her five-year voyage around the world, passing through the Panama Canal from Miami en route to the South Pacific. The wooden vessel, built during World War II, was fitted was fitted with new engines, the hull cleaned, caulked and repainted and 80% of the electric wiring was replaced.
