(Original Caption) For 50 years television had been the dream of scientists and then J. L. Baird, a native of Glasgow, successfully transmitted by wireless, a moving picture of Captain G. H. Hutchinson, his manager from a small room in Frith Street, Soho, London, England. It was quite plain at the receiving end. Mr. Baird had completed his experiments, and then 500 machines to his pattern was being made to enable future users to be able to "look in" as well as "listen in." Mr. Baird is shown speaking into the transmitting apparatus.
