(Original Caption) First Days Of Creation: The august issue of Life magazine features the first pictures ever of how life begins. Swedish photographer Lennart Nilsson captured this view of the embryo attaching itself to the uterine wall only eight days after conception. Delacorte Press will publish A Child is Born, a book of Nilsson's photos this fall.
