Artist's Description

US Coast Guardsmen with a captured Japanese flag, which they have been using for target-practice, circa 1944. The flag was taken during the Battle of Los Negros in the Admiralty Islands in February 1944. The Coast Guardsmen are serving on an assault transport in the south-west Pacific.
