(Original Caption) 2/14/1931-Rome, Italy: A scene in the transmitting room of the new Papal radio station in the Papal City, Rome, Italy, which was installed under the supervision of Gugliermo Marconi, inventor of wireless, forerunner of radio. Marconi is seen at the extreme left after a test of the apparatus. Several days after the dedication of the row station, the voice of Pope Pius was heard for the first time throughout the civilized world in an epochal broadcast.
