Artist's Description

Rioting outside the Liberty Hall headquarters of the Transport Workers Union in Dublin, 31st August 1913. Trouble flared after a meeting by striking tramway workers when crowds gathered and a stone was thrown at a policeman. In the fighting, which ensued, two civilians were killed, 433 injured and 45 policemen were hurt. (Photo by Evening Standard/Hulton Archive/Getty Images)
