(Original Caption) 3/18/25-Alaska: This photo shows the arrival of the first dog team, driven by the famous Alaskan Musher, Kasson, with the antitoxin used in Nome's heroic fight against the epidemic of Diphtheria which raged for weeks. Dog teams relayed the serum from outside sources, mushing it across the frozen trails in record time. Kasson and his dog team were hailed as heroes on the arrival in Nome.
