(Original Caption) 7/4/1948- Haifa, Palestine: Israel's Prime Minister wishes the British a bon voyage. Israel's Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion, (center left with jacket) with his wife and friends, was at hands at the Haifa docks, to see the last contingent of British troops leave the Holy Land. This marks the first time, since Allenby's campaign in 1017, that the Holy Land is without a single British soldier. SEE NOTE
