Claremont House, Esher, Surrey, 1900. Claremont is an 18th-century Palladian mansion built for Robert Clive (Clive of India). In 1816 the estate was purchased by the nation as a wedding gift for Princess Charlotte, daughter of King George IV, and Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg, the future King of Belgium.
