Description
(Original Caption) "So-Taien-O-Wa-Ne" or Chief Great Fire of the Iroquois, is now the general custodian and guardian around Central Park Lake. He will glide hither and yon in his light canoe painted red and will undoubtedly give the lake quite a bit of color in his buckskins. He has been appointed by Parks Commissioner F.D. Gallatin and will be on duty daily. Chief Great Fire has lived for some years in Brooklyn, though born on an Indian reservation near Montreal, Canada.
