(Original Caption) 9/29/1931-London, England:Charlie Chaplin, Czar of screen comics, pays a friendly call on Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian Nationalists cause, who first came into national prominence by his salt-making gesture in definace of the constituted British authority.This meeting of the two notables occured at the home of Dr. Katial, an dIndian physician, living at Beckton Rd., London.The comedian said he wanted to hear something of Indian's side of the independence question from the leader himself.
