(Original Caption) Reflecting on the trials and tribulations of a bitterly disappointing season, Yankee skipper Casey Stengal appears weary and blue as he ponders what might have been here, September 10th, with all of the experts---including Stengel himself--having picked the Yanks to win the pennant, Casey Stengal has plenty to think about now that the Bombers have been eliminated from the race. Casey's Day was brightened somewhat when the Yanks went out and blasted Kansas City, 12-1.
