Bobby Jones, the winner of the British Open Golf Championship, arrived in New York, July 2 and was met by a delegation at Quarantine, taken from the Aquitania to the Macon brought to the Battery where a band escorted him to City Hall, where Mayor Walker officially welcomed him, as the world's champ golfer. One of the first photos to arrive shows Bob Jones with the cup which Gen. Topping presented, after the matches in England. Photo shows Bobby Jones with Cup.
