(Original Caption) 7/4/1939-New York, NY:_Babe Ruth greets his former teammate Lou Gehrig on the occasion of "Lou Gehrig Day" at Yankee Stadium, during a ceremony honoring the nonplaying Captain of the Yankees, whose playing days have ended as a result of a diseased spine. The ceremony took place in between games of the New York Yankees-Washington Senators double header.
