(Original Caption) Taking a Peek at Mars. Near Washington, D.C.: Professor Hall, astronomer at the U.S. Naval Observatory near Washington, studying the planets through the big telescope at the observatory. The planet Mars was Prof. Hall's objective, but a maze of clouds obscured a clear view of the planet, which is nearer the Earth than it has been for some years. The only change noted by Prof. Hall is that white spots previously seen on Mars, have changed to green.
