An Aristocrat Takes Breakfast', or 'Silk on His Stomach and Nothing Inside', 1849-1850, (1965). A young man in a silk dressing gown hurries to cover a meagre slice of bread with a book, as a visitor draws back the curtain of his bedsitting-room.
