American athlete Jim Thorpe wears his Olympic uniform as he stands on a stairway in front of a building at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden. He wins the gold medal in both the decathlon and pentathlon events at these Olympics, but in 1913 the Amateur Athletic Union strips him of his medals because of a question concerning his amateur status.
