Artist's Description

(Original Caption) Aerial gas station opened in Los Angeles. The aerial age may truly be said to have begun, and it took a young daredevil aviator to conduct the opening. Wesley May, who has been electrifying audiences at Los Angeles by his aerial stunts, recently went aloft in a plane, with a tank of gas strapped to his back. At a height of more than a thousand feet, his pilot brought him close to another plane, to which may jump. Making his way to the gas tank, May filled it from the tank he carried on his back, using a rubber tube for the process. Then he walked out on the wing, and got back to his own plane. So the first aerial gas station was opened. Here's the daredevil at his work.
