Description
Advert for Beecham's Pills, 1887. The pills were first introduced by Thomas Beecham in the early 1840s. A laxative, they were marketed as a cure for a whole multitude of ailments, with the strapline 'Worth a Guinea a Box'. The pills were very popular and by the end of the 1950s Beecham was producing them on an industrial scale and exporting all over the world.
