Chowles the coffin maker is on table in centre, and Judith Malmayns, the treacherous plague nurse, is seated on the left. The men are drinking and smoking pipes, and the whole scene is lit only by a lantern, giving a chiaroscuro effect. From Old St Paul's by William Harrison Ainsworth. (London, 1855).
