Artist's Description

VITSHUMBI, LAKE EDWARD, DR CONGO - JULY 29: Daily life in Vitshumbi Fishing village on the Southern shores of Lake Edward, on July 29, 2013 in Vitshumbi, DR Congo. The villagers depend on the lake for water, washing, the staple food of fishing, and the transport of people and goods. The Vitshumbi fishing village is in the 'Block V' area of Virunga National Park. UK company Soco International PLC is planning to explore for oil in DRC's Virunga National Park, a protected World Heritage Site and most biodiverse park in Africa.
