KAVANYONGI, LAKE EDWARD, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO - AUGUST 9: The fishing village of Kavanyongi on the Northern shores of Lake Edward, on August 9, 2013 inside Virunga National Park, DRC. This lake shore village relies on fishing for its livelihood and for all its water needs. It is the biggest village on the lake shores on the Congolese side, with a population of 30 000. Kavanyongi is in the 'Block V' area of Virunga National Park. UK company Soco International PLC is planning to explore for oil in DRC's Virunga National Park, a protected World Heritage Site and most biodiverse park in Africa.
