Artist's Description

It takes a little doing to get into a capsule If a guest stretches his arms upward, he will touch the ceiling; if side ward he will reach both walls. The room "door" is at a guest's feet and his head may touch the facing wall. Its' a bit over $12 a night to spend a night in a capsule. Seiko Nagao, owner of Capsule Hotel Eight, describes he property as offering "a space capsule flight on the ground." Mrs. Nagao's hotel, like others of it's kind, is intended largely for the businessman who wants to get maximum gain from the per diem allowance he receives by saving on lodging, or for the commuter who has missed the last train home.
