Artist's Description

(Original Caption) Where the Two Ends Meet. New York, New York: When tunnel was dug, it was started from opposite shores of Hudson River and then made to meet in middle underneath the riverbed, and here's where the two ends met. As can be seen, the rib spacing in iron from work is even, except in middle of photo where it is much narrower in joint. That is where the two ends were connected.
