(Original Caption) Japanese riot police clashed today with militant leftist students protesting plans to build a Tokyo International Airport in this suburban town. Preliminary reports said that 43 persons were injured in clashes between 5,000 police and 1,000 helmeted and club toting members of the Zengakuren student movement. Casualties included 19 policemen and one journalist. The leftist students championing the cause of area farmers who resent the appropriation of their family lands for the planned new airport, attempted to storm police barracks around the Narita airport construction office. Police turned high pressure water hoses on the students and used nightsticks to turn them back. After being defeated at the barricades, the students returned to the Narita railway station to catch trains for Tokyo, 5 miles to the west. Japan is building the new airport at Narita to ac
