Artist's Description

17th July 1954: The yacht 'Nyachilwa' takes part in a regatta near the Tail o' the Bank on the River Clyde, Scotland. Clydeside is famous for its shipbuilding industry which has long dominated the lives of families living in the area. The Clyde provides employment for most people in the surrounding towns but also provides pleasure and entertainment. Many Clydesiders enjoy sailing on the river or spend their holidays on the coast at the mouth of the Clyde.
