Artist's Description

(Original Caption) Forgetting for a moment that she's a Marine, Joan O'Neill lets out a womanly yowl as she takes her injections at Fort Schuyler in New York where the First Infantry Battalion of the Marine Corps Reserve is preparing for activation on August 11. The battalion has 723 men, 50 women, and 36 officers. It is the first reserve unit to be activated in the New York area.
